WHO ARE WE?
Situated in the sunny seaside town of Weston-super-Mare, University Centre Weston (UCW) is proud to be the top higher education centre in North Somerset.
As a TEF Gold provider, we provide over 45 degree level programmes and short courses that will enable learners to reach the next level or help you kickstart your career. From employer-based higher apprenticeships to full-time degrees and Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs), all of our programmes are in partnership with UWE Bristol and Bath Spa University.
LECTURING ROLES & TEACHING STAFF
There’s never been a better time to get into education through teaching higher education… Sometimes, within your career you need to change paths to re-gain purpose, challenge yourself and pass on your spark of inspiration for your specialism – Moving from industry into education is an incredible way to give back and pivot into a rewarding career.
For those industry experts looking to give back and inspire the next generation, we’re looking to recruit passionate and enthusiastic lecturers with a range of different experiences/backgrounds. For instance, this event is great for those with deep technical knowledge and experience to teach on our new degree apprenticeships such as Digital User Experience (UX) and Project Management.
Here at UCW, we’re a smaller size university so no big lecture halls teaching 200 students at once. Instead you’ll be sharing your knowledge and guiding learners in smaller, more manageable class sizes at one of our 4 campuses in Weston-super-Mare.
Teaching can also be flexible so whether you’re looking for full-time or part-time work, teaching can be scheduled on the days you are available. Whether you’re a graduate or coming in from industry, we are also willing and able to support you through getting your teaching qualification. So if you do not currently hold a teaching qualification, don’t worry – We value our lecturers’ experiences to create immersive and real-world informed learning for our students.
SUPPORT STAFF
Our support staff are the beating heart of UCW – Literally! Our H.E.A.R.T (Higher Education Academic Registration Team) team help learners with all aspects of student life, from finance and admissions to wellbeing and participation. Our support staff aid learners in non-curriculum/academic areas, spanning a wide range of functions, supporting the student journey from enquiry, throughout the study years and beyond. They create the infrastructure that is vital to the students.
