Working with schools and colleges
UCW can visit schools and colleges to help pupils prepare for a future in higher education. We can visit at a time that fits around the school day, or alternatively you can bring your learners to us.
Although most of the activities we offer are designed for students, we are also happy to talk to teachers and parents to help them support pupil progression to higher education.
We are also committed to recruiting students from a broad and diverse community who have the potential to succeed and benefit from higher education. Our Outreach Team is therefore dedicated to working with state schools and colleges to raise their pupils’ aspirations and widen participation in higher education.
Please see below for more info about some of the initiatives we offer at UCW.
Children’s University is an amazing project where children can get rewarded for having fun!
The initiative involves children taking part in different learning activities outside of scheduled school hours. For every event they attend, they get a stamp in their Passports to Learning, which they save up to earn bronze, silver and gold certificates.
They are then presented with their qualifications in school and once they reach a gold level, they are invited to a mock graduation ceremony to celebrate their achievements.
