Counselling residential trip

Counselling Students Learn on Residential Trip

08/05/2025

Our first and second-year BSc (Hons) Counselling students spent two inspiring days at a retreat centre near Glastonbury. This was a unique opportunity for self-development and building a supportive learning community.

Away from the classroom, students connected with both their peers and staff. They participated in creative and collaborative workshops and enjoyed fun group activities. The students also prepared their own entertainment, allowing the group to have lots of laughs!

This residential trip forms part of the subject Careers Excellence Hub. At UCW our approach goes beyond the traditional classroom setting. Through industry speakers, workshops, employer projects, and more, we equip our learners with the real-world experiences and insights that set them apart in the competitive job market. It’s not just about getting a job; it’s about standing out from the crowd when they embark on their job searches.

This immersive experience fostered deeper relationships, enhanced self-awareness, and allowed students to learn in new, meaningful ways. These advantages are all vital to preparing for a rewarding future in counselling.
