Great graduate prospects
At UCW we know that earning a degree is an important step for our students in achieving their ambitions. But we also understand that employers in today’s competitive jobs market are looking for practical, hands-on experience from the candidates they hire. That’s why all of our degrees have employer involvement, and why our lecturers have spent time working in the sectors they teach in.
And this approach works: 95% of our students are in further study or employment within six months of graduating.
Our graduates have gone on to have fantastic careers with renowned organisations such as Aardman Animations, Dyson, the National Trust, Avon and Somerset Police, Bristol Airport, the NHS, the Army, Bristol Zoo, MSNBC and many, many more.
UCW also encourages students to take advantage of work placement opportunities and can even provide scholarships to help those who wish to undertake unpaid or even international internships.
Our students also have access to a Careers Coaching service for the whole time they are enrolled with us and for up to a year after they graduate. Our knowledgeable Careers Consultant can arrange for students to visit the careers events at their partner university, and also provide guidance via the course-specific careers resources on our Virtual Learning Environment, group workshops on effective job searching, CVs and applications, and one-to-one appointments on a range of subjects.
