Environmental Health Practitioner BSc (Hons) (Degree Apprenticeship)

Level 6

This Degree Apprenticeship covers subjects such as housing, food safety and Public Health on a specialist academic and professional pathway.

The BSc (Hons) Environmental Health Practitioner degree apprenticeship has been developed through consultation with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and the Institute for Apprenticeships, along with employers from a range of public and environmental health-related fields. The programme is also aligned to the required standards of The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health ‘Professional Standards Framework’, and will enable graduates to progress to the CIEH Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner Programme. A CIEH accredited degree is often required by employers, especially in the public sector, and as the world of Environmental Health is multi-faceted, the possibilities for career development are vast.

This degree apprenticeship allows students to work in the professional field whilst studying for a degree at the same time. Students (i.e. apprentices) are usually full time paid employees who spend 20% of their week studying, and the rest of the time in the work place.
