Mark is a theatre director, author, lecturer and musician. He is currently co-director of theatre at Take Art, an Arts Council NPO, where one of his priorities is to support an increase in the quality, diversity and scale of theatre made and presented across Somerset. He has also been artistic director and chief executive of two touring companies: Hampshire-based Proteus and Croydon-based West 28th Street. Mark has commissioned and directed several rural touring shows, and composed the scores for and and musically-directed numerous productions for companies ranging from the Theatre Royal, Winchester, to the Actors’ Theatre of Manhattan. He is also the author of Rising from the Dust: India’s Hidden Voices. Mark has a Combined Honours Degree in Music and English from Birmingham University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Theatre Directing from the British Theatre Association and in Theatre and Education from the Central School of Speech and Drama.
