    Joumana Mourad:

    Joumana Mourad
The Bob Lockyer Award for Digital Innovation nominee in 2022.

Hybrid performance Curator at Open Online Theatre,  IJAD Artistic Director/Choreographer Digital performance and Sensography specialist. Mentor An expert in the fields of dance and technology, working directly with artists to develop their skills and nurture their curiosity around working with the latest emerging technologies.

Since 2010 Joumana has been developing her work at the intersections of science, technology and performing arts. In 2017 her collaboration with Prof Andrew Newsam and Prof Ian Loram led her to develop Sensography. Since then, she has supported 4 cohorts of artists on the OOT residency programme to help equip them with the necessary skills and techniques for fully integrated performing arts and tech in a hybrid format.

Joumana Mourad embraces digital technologies in dance, creating performances presented on three different yet interlinked stages (physical, digital-stream and digital-social) to create meaningful worldwide conversations, before, during and after a performance. "Mourad has since gone on to be one of the most intriguing figures on the British dance scene, challenges the very nature of what you think a dance performance will look like."

Keith Watson, Metro "Her [Mourad’s] multimedia ideas are all encompassing, engaging all our senses and demanding 100 per cent of our attention at all times."
