LEARNING SUPPORT AT UCW
Having a disability, mental health condition, or specific learning difficulty should never be an obstacle to accessing higher education — whether you're studying a full honours degree, a foundation degree, or undertaking an apprenticeship. At UCW, we are committed to supporting all learners by fostering an inclusive environment that encourages independence while offering tailored support when needed.
Before getting started on your course, you might consider participating in any transition events or activities, such as HEADSTART or the summer drop-ins we hold for our September starters. (Insert live link in run up to HEADSTART) For support with academic development, library and well-being services all current students, regardless of their connections to the specialist team, can find information and access via the Student Zone, SharePoint or web pages.
We provide a range of services to meet the diverse needs of our student community, including:
- Specialist support: including for learners on the autism spectrum, available across all pathways.
- Mental health and wellbeing advice: with flexible access options for those balancing study and work.
- Study skills sessions: 1:1 (where applicable) and group workshops tailored to different learning contexts — from academic writing, portfolio support or revision techniques for exams.
- Guidance through the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) application process (where applicable).
- Resources and access to assistive technologies
Whether you're based on campus or learning in the workplace, our team is here to help. Please click on the dropdowns to find out more.
