The BSc (Hons) Cyber Security takes you the whole way. You’ll cover the foundations and core security work of the first two years, then move into a final honours year where you design, plan and secure infrastructure at the scale real organisations work with. It suits people who want to do more than use security tools, and would rather be the ones designing, justifying and leading the systems that keep an organisation safe.
This builds upon the FdSc Cyber Security and you will cover: programming, networks, databases, operating systems, forensics and threat analysis. The final year steps up to the things organisations really worry about, like planning large network upgrades, managing directory services and security policy across complex domains, deploying secure cloud platforms, and researching the technologies, from quantum computing to the Internet of Things, that will shape security over the next decade. You graduate with a full Honours degree from UWE Bristol.
