University Centre Weston, or UCW, has been offering high quality degrees since 1993, during which time we've continued to broaden the choice of programmes we offer, partnering with 3 major Universities in the South West of England.
Every year, more and more people of different ages and backgrounds come to study with us.

Quality courses
We are rated as Gold in the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework, meaning the teaching, learning and opportunities we provide are of the highest quality in Britain, and we have also achieved the best Higher Education Review in the West of England.
Student satisfaction
We achieved an overall satisfaction score of 93% in the National Student Survey 2019 and five of our degree areas – Animal Management, Applied Computing, Counselling, Early Years and Musical Theatre – have individual overall satisfaction scores of 100%.
Outstanding support
We do all we can to support our students, including offering mental health and wellbeing guidance and providing additional learning expertise, and we also offer plenty of opportunities to get involved with everything going on at UCW.
Fantastic facilities
We have created a modern learning environment across our campuses and have recently invested tens of millions of pounds to build a new University Centre and new Health and Active Living Skills Centre.
Excellent results
In 2019, 35% of our Honours graduates achieved first-class degrees, which is well above the national average, and the latest figures show that 90% of our students complete their course.
Smaller classes
Whereas some lectures at traditional universities may contain hundreds of people, our average class size in 2019 was just 15, which means we can offer greater access to academics, resources and equipment.
Bigger choice
We offer a range of degree-level courses and qualifications to suit our students’ needs, including HNCs and HNDs, Foundation degrees, Higher Apprenticeships, Degree Apprenticeships, Honours degrees and Honours Top-up degrees.
Brilliant lecturers
Our staff are what sets us apart, with our highly-qualified lecturers all having subject specialisms and practical experience in the areas they teach. Come and meet them at our next Open Day.
Partnership working
We work closely with our partner universities, big and small businesses, and lots of other organisations to make sure that our graduates are well prepared and ready for the world of work.
Great graduates
According to the latest figures, 95% of our graduates gain employment or progress to further study within six months of graduating, with 74% in either highly skilled employment or further study.

The fifth and sixth floors of the Weston College Group’s seafront Knightstone Campus in the centre of Weston are exclusively for UCW students.
The University Centre across the two floors has computer suites, group study spaces, common rooms, bookable classrooms and a brand new hair and make-up studio.
Knightstone is also home to the UCW Academy of Performing Arts, which features performance and rehearsal spaces with fully-sprung floors, a health and fitness suite, sports hall and outdoor 3G pitch, a bistro serving hot and cold food and a Costa Coffee shop.
