Your induction programme is designed to help you feel confident, informed, and ready to begin your studies. It will include: 

• An introduction to your course, including module handbooks, timetables, and assessment schedules. 
• Team-building activities with your peers to help you get to know each other. 
• Guidance on university expectations, including professional behaviours, health and safety, and safeguarding. 
• Support in using Microsoft Teams, so you're prepared for the digital learning aspects of your course. 

Here are a few important things to complete before you arrive. If you need any help, feel free to contact us at admissions@ucw.ac.uk. 

• Activate your UCW IT account. You should have received an email with your login details. If not, get in touch and we’ll look into it for you. 
• Complete your UCW online enrolment. You’ll receive a link to do this shortly after A Level results day (mid-August). If you have any issues, email enrolments@ucw.ac.uk. 
• Download the Microsoft Teams app from the App Store or Google Play. 
• Arrange your travel. If you’re travelling by bus, make sure to purchase your bus pass. More information can be found [here]. 
• Student Finance A reminder that if you have not already done so you must apply for student finance unless you plan to self-fund your degree. Apply online for student finance - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) 
• Maintenance Loan Payments 

If you are expecting to receive a Student Finance maintenance loan, please be aware that your payment cannot be released until you have completed your UCW enrolment in person. 

The maintenance loan date shown on your Student Finance account is only an earliest indication of when payment may be made and should not be considered the date the funds will reach your bank account. 

Once you have completed your in-person enrolment, Student Finance will be notified and it typically takes 3 to 5 working days for your maintenance loan to be paid into your bank account.
