David Lown

Programme Coordinator, Public and Environmental Health

David has extensive experience lecturing on BSc and MSc Public and Environmental Health programmes. Prior to taking up teaching, he worked in local government as an Environmental Health Officer. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) West of England Branch Management Team, and a number of regional CIEH branch meetings have been held at UCW thanks to his involvement. David holds a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health and a Diploma in Health and Safety. He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.


Verity Sweeney

Public and Environmental Health Associate Lecturer

Verity is a vastly experienced teacher, having taught subjects including Geography, Geology, Human Physiology and Health, Animal Management and Applied Science to learners of different ages over a career spanning more than 30 years. She has an Honours degree in Environmental Health from the University of Lancaster and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Bath Spa University.
