“The set-up of the course meant I was able to study to further my career while continuing to work in a hospital. All of the modules were relevant to my role, and I particularly enjoyed studying psychology as it is a topic I hadn’t really explored before. You also have to specialise in an area and relate it to your practice, which meant that I was able to provide an improved service to patients in my ward.”
Ella progressed from the Foundation Degree at UCW to a degree in nursing at UWE Bristol.
“I was given the opportunity to study the degree alongside my job, and it’s benefitted me hugely. I’ve consolidated my work-based knowledge and gained the confidence to address issues in my role, highlight areas of practice that could be improved and suggest new ideas.”
Following the completion of her degree, Stacey was promoted to the position of Assistant Practitioner with North Somerset Community Partnership.
