University Centre Weston (UCW) is among the top higher education providers in the UK for student satisfaction, according to the results of this year’s National Student Survey (NSS).
Students awarded UCW an overall satisfaction score of 93 per cent, which is above the average of 84 per cent for all degree-level education providers in the UK.
UCW also achieved top quartile scores in the eight other main categories used to determine student satisfaction.
These include teaching, learning opportunities and resources, assessment and feedback, organisation and management, academic support and student voice.
Five degrees at UCW – Animal Management, Applied Computing, Counselling, Early Years and Musical Theatre – were awarded individual overall satisfaction scores of 100 per cent.
Dr Paul Phillips CBE, the Principal and Chief Executive of the Weston College Group, said: “Our students are our most important reviewers, and these wonderful results demonstrate the importance we place on providing an outstanding learning experience.
“I’m grateful to all of our students who took part in the survey, and also to our staff, university partners and supporters in our local community for all they do in making UCW such a great place to study.”
Grace Fox, who will graduate from UCW later in the year with a first-class degree in Lens-based Media, added: “I knew within five minutes of walking through the door that UCW was the place for me.
“I’ve had an amazing three years there, so I’m not at all surprised by these results.”
The NSS is carried out by polling company Ipsos MORI on behalf of the Office for Students and other UK funding and regulatory bodies.
More than 330,000 students at 400 universities, colleges and private providers took part this year.
UCW delivers its degrees in partnership with Bath Spa University, Hartpury University and UWE Bristol.
