University Centre Weston (UCW) is delighted to announce the launch of a new dual-institution option for students who are looking to pursue a career in law.
From September 2017, students will be able to complete the first year of UWE Bristol’s LLB (Hons) Law degree at UCW.
Those who pass the first year will then be invited to complete the second and third years of the degree at the highly regarded Bristol Law School.
While at UCW, students will cover subjects including constitutional and administrative law, contract law, criminal law, the foundations of law, and will also be able to take additional Institute of Leadership and Management qualifications.
As well as benefiting from the supportive learning environment and competitive tuition fees on offer at UCW, students will also get the chance to study at the Weston College Group’s bespoke and recently-refurbished Law and Professional Services Academy.
UCW Law Lecturer Jason Hillyerd said: “This is such a unique proposition, and ideal for those students who feel they need that bit more contact time with tutors in their first year of higher education.
“At the same time, though, they will have access to UWE Bristol’s library and also be able to join its law societies, and take advantage of all the facilities and resources at two institutions.
“It is also great for students in Weston and all across North Somerset to be able to prepare for a legal career with a new degree-level course right on the doorstep.”
