Students from the Graphic Design courses at UCW have launched a space-themed brand with a print sale to help fund upcoming exhibitions in Bristol and London.
The brand is called Nova – which is Latin for ‘new’ – and represents the students being new designers.
The themes of the brand are space and the future, which were chosen because the designers felt that the idea of the unknown related to the world of work and professional journeys they would soon be embarking upon.
The Nova launch event was held in UCW’s Loxton Campus, with the students selling around 50 of the 18 different styles of print they have produced so far.
The funds will be put towards an upcoming exhibition in Bristol and their attendance at New Designers – a prestigious industry showcase in London in the summer.
Tabitha Stead, who came up with the winning Nova concept with her classmate Georgi Clark, said: “Nova is more than just the display of our work.
“It’s an immersive experience, showcasing out unique skillset and innovative design outcomes to the creative industries and the curious public.
“The Nova team are overjoyed with the success of the print exhibition fundraiser and couldn’t be more thankful for all of the support and people who made it an evening to remember.
“We are very excited for Launch 2 of the Nova mission in Bristol, with more details coming soon…”
