Course detail

You can either decide to study on the broad sport pathway or, if you aspire to work in the football industry, specialise in studies relating to the beautiful game.

You will be taught across our Knightstone, Winter Gardens and Loxton Campuses. Classroom based sessions will primarily utilise the bright and spacious learning spaces at the Winter Gardens on Weston seafront, with practical sessions being based at the fantastic sports and fitness facilities at the new Health and Active Living Skills Centre at Loxton Campus.

The courses feature day trips and residential visits at an additional expense. In recent years, students from this course have visited the FA's National Football Centre at St. George's Park and also been on a trip to New York, for example.

The teaching is delivered by highly qualified lecturers with subject specialisms in areas such as sports coaching, sports education and sports psychology. The lecturing team will also assist you in undertaking additional qualifications, which in the past have included the FA Level 1 Certificate, Level 1 Award in Basketball and Level 3 Award in Education and Training.

Please click on the next tab to find out more about what you will learn and how these Foundation Degrees are taught and assessed. Please contact the course leader Spencer Frost or UCW’s HEART student services team if you have any questions. It also would be great to see you at our next Open Day.
