AT A GLANCE
This industry-focused Foundation Degree has been designed to equip students with the skills they need to be able to produce their own music or work as a recording engineer, live sound operative or sound designer for media, or progress to further study.
There’s never been a better time to learn the production and promotion techniques needed to make professional and commercial music and grow an audience on your own terms. There are so many opportunities to work in formal roles in the music industry and the wider creative and production sectors, or you may prefer to develop your career by marketing and selling your skills and products on a freelance basis. The UCW degree pathway of FdA Music Production followed by BA (Hons) Top-up in Professional Music Performance and Production will help you achieve your ambitions, whatever route you choose to take.
UCW’s Foundation Degree in Music Production is delivered in the professional recording studios, rehearsal rooms and classrooms of our Loxton Campus. You’ll learn the latest production techniques on industry-standard recording equipment, including our Audient ASP8024HE console,
working on your own projects or in collaboration with others.
Most of our creative arts courses are based at the artistic and collaborative environment of our Loxton Campus, and students on this course also have access to the state-of-the-art teaching learning facilities at the redeveloped Winter Gardens.
“The degree was carefully structured to give students a taste of all that the music industry has to offer. It helped determine what path I wanted to follow in the industry and find ways of breaking into it…”
