Construction and the Built Environment (Construction or Civil Engineering), HNC/HND

Civil Engineer At Construction Site

These vocational courses are taught by highly qualified and experienced lecturers and combine the study of core engineering principles with practical, hands-on learning.

These courses have been designed for students who are looking for a university-level and professional-standard technical education in engineering. Students choose which pathway to follow on the second years of both the HNC and HND in order to specialise in either construction engineering or civil engineering. Regardless of the pathway, though, you’ll benefit from the UCW approach of combining academic study in areas including materials, design, mathematics, modelling, mechanics, surveying and project management with practical learning through site visits and fieldtrips.

Because of this focus on work-based learning and an emphasis on career progression, applicants will need to be employed in a suitable position in the field of engineering before being accepted onto the programme.
